Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium
Calcium
-
Calcium is
literally the bond that holds the body together. Without Calcium we
would die. We cannot stress enough the importance of absorbable
Calcium.
-
Traditional
Calcium in the Carbonate or oxide form are inorganic and are virtually
unabsorbable by the body. This means the Calcium Carbonate form
requires a strong acidic environment ( a pH of 5.8 before it starts to
break down ) before the Calcium can be absorbed. The Calcium therefore
passes through the body with little absorption.
-
WaterWorks
contains a chelated form of Calcium that is one of the most absorbable
forms available.
-
Calcium is
an essential nutrient that is stored primarily in the bones.
-
Calcium
helps to produce the heartbeat.
-
Levels of
extracellular (outside the cell) Calcium is maintained at the expense
of bone Calcium if daily intake is insufficient.
-
Blood and
cellular concentrations are maintained first. Calcium will be taken
from the bones to make up any shortfall in the daily intake,
potentially resulting in Osteoporosis.
-
Calcium's
intracellular functions include protein and fat digestion, energy
production, normal nerve conduction, and contraction of the heart
muscle. Calcium is involved in the activation of several enzymes used
to break down fats for utilization by the body.
